Our Story
Our story began in 1978, when Orland (“Big O”) and Joanne Breunig opened Big O’s Cars in Sauk City, Wisconsin. While running the dealership, Big O frequently traveled to Madison to pick up used cars to repair and resell. But on those trips, he noticed a recurring problem, he could never find a trailer that met his standards for quality. That challenge sparked a new idea, what if he could offer trailers built to last, backed by honest and reliable service.
In 1985, Orland and Joanne transitioned the business to focus on trailers and relocated to Portage, WI and Big O’s Trailers was born. Orland’s philosophy was simple, “Provide the highest quality trailer with great customer service.”
It’s a standard we’ve lived by ever since. After Orland’s passing in 2003, the business and the values he built were proudly carried forward by his three children, LeRoy, Carrie, and Suzie. Today, Big O’s Trailers continues to serve Wisconsin and the Midwest with the same dedication to quality, honesty, and family that started it all. For over 40 years, trailers have been the heart of our business and we’re still growing by staying focused on what matters: Quality. Service. Trust.
